1 Corinthians 6:19a
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?
I have never talked to any Christian who is happy or content with the life they led before Jesus. This is particularly true for those who were involved in sexual immorality. No one I know is proud of the adultery, pornography, or other sexual sins committed prior to becoming a believer. In fact, just the opposite is true. If given the opportunity, most would go back and change their acts -- to live differently. Why? Because once the Spirit of God takes up residence within us, the acts we've committed while in the body are revealed for what they are -- sin. There is no longer any doubt.
The world covers sin with words like: progressive, modern, tolerant, and open-minded. Fortunately for us, the Holy Spirit is God's solution -- given to us so we may see through this mask of deception.
The Holy Spirit decisively unveils sin, no matter how cleverly it is packaged. I like to think of Him as God's clarifying instrument. How so? Because as far as He is concerned there is no question or fine line. It either is acceptable to God or it isn't. Have you been listening lately? Have you tuned out the Holy Spirit? What is He saying to you right now? Will you obey?
